Abstract

614,093. Bobbins. FIELDEN, F. July 5, 1946, No. 20131. [Class 120(iii)] In a flanged metal bobbin for holding yarn, of the type in which flanged ends b are in the form of castings which plug into the ends of a tube a forming the bobbin barrel, the plug part b' of each end is provided with a continuous or interrupted groove c of saw-tooth section, the straight edge d of the tooth section nearer the main end e of the plug being normal to the barrel axis, and the material of the tube being pressed into the groove continuously or at intervals around the tube, so that the said straight edge d resists the force exerted by the yarn wound on the barrel tending to push the end out of the barrel.
