Abstract

585,734. Bobbins &c. BRITISH BELTING & ASBESTOS, Ltd., SYKES, F., and HALEY, G. L. Sept. 19, 1944, No. 17864. [Class 120 (iii)] The end of a yarn is anchored to a bobbin &c. A, prior to winding thereon by being secured beneath a clip D formed from a U- shaped piece of wire the two arms of which engage in grooves F, or a recess, in the bobbin &c. and beneath the metal reinforcing ring B. The arms C may be bent downwardly. In a modification, the clip may be formed from a strip of metal or, alternatively, the clip D, which may be bent at E, may be brazed to the inside or outside of the ring B. The clip is disposed outside the winding area of the bobbin and may also be used to hold the finishing end of. the yarn after winding.
