Abstract

569,830. Making devices for suspending strips from purlins &c. FORD, W. G. Oct. 4, 1943, No. 16251. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A suspension device, particularly for suspending T-section strips or laths from purlins, comprises a strap 10 having one end shaped by a winding operation to form a pin 26, Fig. 3, extending laterally of the strap so that it can be inserted in a hole 24 of the lath 22 or the like to be suspended. The strip shown has a lateral slit 12 which opens as shown into an aperture 14, the latter being extended by a slit 17, and forming with the slit 12 a tongue 18. In applying the device, the tongue is first bent up as shown in Fig. 3, the pin formed by winding up the base of the strip is passed through the bole 24, and the tongue is then bent back into its original position to hold the lath in position. In a modification the slit 17 is dispensed with, and in another modification, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), the arrangement is such that the tongue can be wound around the pin 26, thus firmly holding the pin to the lath.
