Abstract

925,962. Supporting ceiling and wall boards. F. WILLIAMS. June 19, 1959 [July 14, 1958], No. 22553/58. Class 20 (4). Wall, ceiling &c. boards 11, Fig. 2, are supported from the flange 2 of a supporting rail 1 by U-sectioned spring clips, Fig. 5, engageable on the flange 2 and having a slot 4 in one limb which receives the web member 9 of a boardretaining device which includes a flange member 10 substantially at right angles to the web member 9 capable of being gripped between the flange 2 and the slotted limb of the clip, and means 7, 8 capable of lying flush against the surface of the board which is remote from the flange 2 of the rail 1. The boards 11 are provided with slots 12 or other apertures capable of receiving the web member 9. In the exemplified embodiment the board-retaining device is formed of galvanized wire the ends 7, 8 of which are bent over against the surface of the board 11. In order to support two adjacent boards, two retaining devices, one for each board, may be placed back-to-back in one slot 4.
