Abstract

The mounting of ceiling tiles made of a brittle material such as plaster, to beams or similar rectangular members uses a specially-designed brace which causes no damage to the visible surface of the tile. Each ceiling tile (2) has a number of pre-drilled circular holes (5) extending inwards in relation to the plane of the tile. The brace consists of a tile-piece (6) with a support (3) extending obliquely from it. This support (3) is inserted into the tile following the holes (5). Each part of the support (3) is reinforced so that its cross section is the same right along it.
