Abstract

932,410. Bobbins. E. GALUPPO. Jan. 10, 1962 [Jan. 14, 1961], No. 944/62. Class 120 (3). A yarn support or spool comprises a single tubular element 1 having its two end edges 2 and 3 rounded and inwardly-bent or inwardlybent and rolled so as to form supporting rings or guiding ledges whereby the spool is fitted on to a spindle assembly 4. The element is sufficiently rigid along the inside surface of the rings not to collapse and the remaining part is radially collapsible to permit shrinking of the yarn package wound thereon. The support may be of paper and of cylindrical, conical or frusto-conical shape. The rings may differ as regards shape and dimension and may be reinforced by interposing elements of stronger material or by hardening the inside surfaces thereof with glue, resin or varnish.
