Abstract

914,430. Ceiling coverings. BERGSTROM, N. E. L. April 10, 1961 [April 12, 1960], No. 12780/61. Class 20 (4). [Also in Group XXIII] In a method for mounting plastic sheet on a ceiling or other surface, the plastic sheet is fastened at one of its edges to a lath 4 and the sheet is wrapped at least once around one of the edges of the lath so that at least one side of the lath is covered thereby. A tool comprising a bar 9 having a substantially U-shaped crosssection, the legs of the U consisting of plates 7, 8 of different widths and extending in the longitudinal direction of the bar, is inserted with the plate 7 between the lath and the sheet so that the other edge 10 of the lath rests against the bar 9 between the plates 7 and 8. The tool with the lath and plastic foil is then lifted up to the intended place for fastening the sheet, as by a pneumatic lifting device 14, 15. The lath is then fastened to the ceiling by nails at the locations indicated by notches 11 in the plate 8 and corresponding to notches in the member 7. Thereafter the tool is removed and the lath is nailed closer to the ceiling.
