Abstract

912,603. Rotary I.C. engines. NSU. MOTORENWERKE A.G., and WANKEL G.m.b.H. April 14, 1960 [April 17, 1959], No. 13411/60. Class 110 (2). A rotary I.C. engine of the n and n+1 lobe type, Fig. 4, comprises three lobes and four apex portions and is provided with a fuel/air inlet port 26, fuel injection means 50, 32, an air inlet port 44 and an exhaust port 28. Two such units, Fig. 9, may be mounted in phasebalanced relationship on a common output shaft 52 having 'counterweights 80, 82. A cooling circuit 122, 222, 124, 224, 125, 100 is provided as shown together with a lubricating circuit 90, 94 for the bearings.
