Abstract
911,672. Web-drying apparatus. FLEISSNER & SOHN G.m.b.H. & CO. MASCHINENFABRIK. March 19, 1959 [March 20, 1958], No. 9540/59. Class 34 (1). In an apparatus for drying fibrous webs comprising sieve drums 2 each in a housing 1 and linked in operative sequence, each drum has a door 28, Fig. 5, near one end face which allows access to the interior of the drum whilst an associated opening 7 is provided in the casing. In a modification, the drum door extends axially along the cylindrical surface, Fig. 4 (not shown). The drum may be arranged such that the portions having the doors 28 project from the general alignment of the drum series alternately to one side and the other. In a modified apparatus the drums are paired in casings, the web passing from casing to casing on conveyers. In another modification, the drums are paired within a single casing the web passing over both the drums of the first pair. Access doors are provided in the casing side walls adjacent the conveyers between the pairs. Each drum may be associated with a lockable inspection chamber below the drum through which access may be gained to the door 28.
