816,094. Drying apparatus. FLEISSNER, H., FLEISSNER, H., and FLEISSNER, G., [trading as FLEISSNER & SOHN MASCHINENFABRIK]. Aug. 28, 1957 [Sept. 1, 1956], No. 27140/57. Class 34(2) Loose, e.g. granular, material is dried by being dropped over a series of perforated rotating drums 11, 12, 13, whilst their interiors are subjected to suction applied by a fan to at least one end of each drum. Cover plates 16, 17, 18, on the inside of the drums concentrate the suction over the uncovered portions and material leaving the drum 13 may be further dried by similar obliquely placed drums below it. The drier may comprise a plurality of drum series the material being moved from the lower drum of one series to the top of the next by a suitable conveyer.
