Abstract

889,683. Drying apparatus. FLEISSNER G.m.b.H. Nov. 10, 1960, No. 38694/60. Classes 34(1) and 34(2) A drum sieve drier for drying granular or fibrous materials comprises rotary drum sieves arranged in side by side sequential relationship, means for rotating the drums and means for creating a pressure difference between the interior and the exterior of each sieve, each sieve having a stationary cover plate adapted to prevent passage of air through the peripheral wall of the sieve except at a part of the peripheral wall which part subtends an angle at the centre of the sieve of less than 180 degrees. The drum sieves 15, 16, 17 are positioned at different horizontal levels, next adjacent sieves are rotated in opposite senses and have stationary cover plates 18, 19, 20 which extend around approximately two-thirds of the peripheral wall of each drum. The material is supplied and removed by conveyers 21, 22 respectively and in a modification the sieves are disposed in a casing.
