911,525. Pile fabrics. CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS A.G. March 30, 1961 [March 31, 1960], No. 11641/61. Class 142 (4). The pile in a tufted carpet is anchored by incorporating in the base fabric yarns and/or the pile yarns, preferably during carding, from 5 to 40% of polythene, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride fibres, and heating the back of the fabric by a calender roller or by hot air or infrared radiation. The base fabric may be of cotton or jute, and the pile may be wool, cotton, or synthetic fibre or filament.
