539,805. Finishing fabrics. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd. March 21, 1940, No. 5303. Convention date, March 24, 1939. [Class 42 (i)] Nap, raising and dressing. The nap of a knitted fabric which contains yarns or filaments of a thermoplastic material, e.g.. cellulose acetate, is set by heat and pressure at an angle other than normal to the fabric. As shown, the fabric is steamed at 3, the nap is laid by a brush 5 and then fixed by a calender roll 6.
