[Also in Group XXVI] A rotatable shaft 3 carries at one end a sleeve 5 having a bearing bush 7 which co-operates with a fixed mounting 8 and fluid under pressure is supplied through a bore 9 in the mounting 8 for lubricating the bearing 7 and forming a liquid seal which prevents fluid surrounding the shaft from entering the bearing. The top of the sleeve 5 is closed by a cap 6.
