Abstract
955,803. Fluid bearings. ESCHER WYSS A.G. June 17, 1960 [June 26, 1959], No. 21414/60. Heading F2A. In a fluid-bearing the gas is supplied by Laval-type nozzles to the bearing gap. In an embodiment a number of nozzles 5 are mounted in radial bores 4 of a bearing member 2 held by a support 1 and embracing a shaft 3 with sufficient clearance to form the bearing gap S. The radial bores 4 are connected to an annular channel 7 which is supplied by gas through an inlet pipe 9 and a bore 10 in the support 1. Seals 8 are provided between the support 1 and the member 2.
