Abstract
908,567. Bearings. ENGINEERING PRODUCTIONS (CLEVEDON) Ltd. June 8, 1961 [June 9, 1960], No. 20315/60. Class 12 (1). In a bearing assembly a bush 1 is retained in a housing 3 so as to have limited radial and axial free movement relative to said housing. The bush, having an outwardly-directed flange 2, is held to the housing by bolts 8, Fig. 1, each of which have a shouldered section 8a and a head 8b. The clearances provided between the bush and the housing and between the bolts 8 and their respective holes in the flange 2, also the shoulder section 8a being longer than the width of the flange, allow the bush to " float." In an alternative construction the housing comprises two portions 3a, 10, Fig. 2, which, on being held together by screws 11, retain the flange 2a of the bush in a recess 7a and a location pin 12 passes with clearance through the flange and enters the housing portion 3a.
