Abstract

819,111. Supporting and mounting bearings. BLACKBURN & GENERAL AIRCRAFT Ltd., COUPE, N. P., and LITTLEFORD, F. Oct. 25, 1957, No. 33408/57. Class 12 (1). A bearing mounting in a fluid engine comprises a substantially triangular-shaped housing 1 supported by three non-radially arranged vanes 2 of streamline shape in cross-section. Each vane 2 has a reduced end portion overlapping a corner part of the housing 1 and is pivotally attached thereto by a pin 3. Bores 4, 5 and 6 are provided for the passage of lubricant, cooling air or fuel. The other ends of the vanes 2 are pivotally attached to a stationary casing. Specification 631,157 is referred to.
