Abstract
1,263,639. Stator blade fixing. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. July 20, 1970, No.35068/70. Heading F1T. To reduce vibration the inner shrouds 23 of a stage of compressor stator blades 20 in a gas turbine engine are pivotally mounted on a common annular or part annular resilient damping member 27. The latter comprises a planar aluminium member 30 having angularly spaced holes 31, the interiors of the holes and the opposite surfaces of member 30 being coated with silicone rubber to form bushes 34 and layers 32, 33. The legs 24, 25 of each shroud 23 frictionally engage the layers 32, 33 and an aluminium pivot pin 35 extends through each pair of legs and bush 34. Each blade 20 is supported at its outer end by engagement of platform 22 with the compressor casing 11.
