Abstract

908,189. Thermal switches. BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO. Ltd. May 2, 1961 [May 2, 1960], No. 15358/60. Class 38 (5). A thermally-responsive element, as shown a bellows 1 connected by a tube 3 to a sensitive phial, operates a lever 6 pivoted to one end of a lever 9 which is pivoted at 23 and has at its other end a spring 24 which is compressed by excessive movement of the thermally responsive element. The lever 6 engages the button 10 of a snap-action switch. The operating temperature is set by raising or lowering fulcrum 23 by means of a coarse adjustment bushing 28, and a fine adjustment spindle whose movement is limited by the co-operation between a stop 26 on the spindle and a lug 27 on the casing. Lever 6 is preferably bimetallic.
