Abstract

907,032. Corsets &c. SYMINGTON & CO. Ltd., R. & W. H. Aug. 4, 1960 [June 15, 1959], No. 20398/59. Class 141. A corset, corselette or man's belt is provided with an abdominal supporting strip in two parts, each part being attached at one end to the back of the garment and provided at its other end with fastening means for selective engagement with a vertical series of fasteners at the front of the garment, so that the belt may be arranged to extend either horizontally or obliquely at the front of the garment. Each part of the supporting-strip consists of two pieces 17, 18 adjustably connected by a buckle 20. In a busk-front corset, Fig. 3, the two pieces 17 are secured at the back by lacing 22, 22<1> and the pieces 18 are provided at their front edges with three hooks 24<1> for selective engagement in any adjacent three fabric loops 26, 26<1> on the corset. For adjustability the corset has back lacing 12, elastic lacing 16 at the lower side portions and an elastic waistband 27. Spiral steel stiffeners 30 are provided.
