583,244. Corsets and abdominal belts. MULLER, C. A. July 6, 1944, No. 12915. [Class 141] An abdominal supporting belt comprises a fabric sheet 10 adapted to embrace the body, an opening 10c therein to the side of the centre, fastening means, e.g., eyelets and pins 12a, and eyelets and hooks 13a, secured to the sides of the opening, a central opening 10d, lacing 15 there across, fabric panel 16 extending across the central opening behind the lacing, stiffening members 17 disposed in the panel, and straps 18 extending across the central opening at an intermediate portion, the lower ends of the stiffening members being substantially level with the lower strap. Buckles 20 enable the length of the straps to be adjusted. Stiffening means 11 may be disposed in the sheet 10, and hose fasteners 24 provided. A pad may be employed with the device, being attached to panel 16. A pad having a straight lower edge and curved upper edge and of wedge cross section is shown.
