SANITARY BELT AND BUCKLE.

Application filed March 6, 1926. Serial No. 92,816.

This invention relates generally to sanitary supporters for bandages such as worn by women. The invention having more particular reference to an improved sanitary supporter or belt.

The invention has for an object the provision of an improved sanitary belt affording greater comfort to the wearer.

A further object of the invention is the provision of an improved sanitary support embodying a novel type of fastening means which has no pins and which may be readily adapted to firmly hold a bandage and metal parts from touching the body of the wearer. V

For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the follow ing description and accompanying drawing and to the appended claim in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

Fig. 1 of the drawings, is a. perspective view of my improved sanitary supporter, as it would appear, when buckled, in position on the wearer.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of my improved sanitary supporter, in an unbuckled position.

Fig. 3 is an enlarged fragmentary View thereof, showing in particular the improved fastening means as used in connection with my improved device.

Fig. l is a similar view'showing a modifi-' cation of my improved fastening means.

As here embodied my improved sanitary supporter embodies a front supporting mem-- ber 10, and a rear supporting member 11, having upper side elements 12 and 1? and a lower element 14, and having sllghtly curved adjoining edges 15. Thesaid front supporting member 10, and the said rear supporting member 11, are adjust-ably attabbed to one another by the depending tapes 16, or straps, suitably stitched or sewn thereto, as at 17, and by the buckles 18, provided with preferably three depending engaging elements 19.

The above described arrangement 1s such as will comfortably conform to the waist of the wearer, so that the lower elements 1 1 of the front supporting member 10 and the rear supporting member 11 will extend therefrom, over the abdomen and rear of the wearer.

The lower elements 1 1, of the front sup-- porting member 10 and the rear supporting" member 11, are provided with a fastening means comprising a fastener 20, and a secondary fastener 21, attachedthereto, by a piece of suitable material 22, which may be looped over the inner cross elements 23 and 24, respectively, of the fastener 20 and the secondary fastener 21, as at 25, and suitably stitched or sewn thereto as at 26. The said fasteners 20 and 21 are provided with circular looped elements 27 adjacent to the said piece of material 22, which are sewn or stitched, as at 28, to the lower elements 14. The said fasteners 20 and 21 are also provided with extended outer cross elements 29 and 30, respectively.

The above mentioned construction is such as will firmly support a bandage 31 hav ing its extremities, placed between the said extended outer cross elements 29 and 30, and looped over the said extended outer element 29, and placed between the said outer elements 29 and 30. It is understood that the sewing or stitching, as at 28, of the said circular looped elements 27, will prevent the piece of material 22 from being pulled out of shape, or uncomfortable to the wearer, and that the said bandage 31 is placed between the limbs of the wearer.

It is also understood that the said buckles 18, and the said fastener 20, and said secondary fasteners 21, which are preferably of any suitable metal will not touch the slzin of the wearer. It is also further understood that the fastener 20 and the secondary fastener 21, may be used for all purposes, whereas fastening means of this type and nature is desirable, as I do not necessarily limit same to the particular purpose as hereinbefore set forth and described.

Referring in particular to Fig. 4 of the accompanying drawing, in which I have shown a modification of the improved fastening means as used in connection with my improved device. The said extended outer cross elements 29 and 30 are irregularly bent or formed, as at 32, so as to more firmly hold the said bandage 31 in place, as heretobefore set forth.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows:

In a sanitary support, supporting members comprising a fabric material, a fastening device comprising a substantially rec- 10 portion thereof having an opening therein to receive the upper crossbar of said rectangular frame, said loops being stitched to said supporting members, said rectangular frame and said U-shaped frame being substantially square at their lower ends, the

squared lower-portions cooperating with the upper stitched loopsto prevent bunching of a bandage after adjustment on the support.
