Abstract

704,805. Swim-suits. MARTIN-WHITE, Ltd., and WHITE, J. F. March 6,1952 [Oct- 26, 1951], No. 25069/51. Class 141 In a swim-suit or sports garment, the brassiere portion has a vertical stiffening insert in each breast pocket and a strap or straps secured to lower ends of the inserts. As shown, the knicker part 1 has an elastic rear and side panel 1a and a non-stretchable front panel 1b, straps 1c being sewn at the top of the seams joining the panels. The brassiere portion 2 has: stiffening inserts 2a on the inside of each of which are provided loops at the top and bottom through which the straps 1c may be threaded to tie at the back of the neck. Alternatively, the straps 1c may be tied round the waist. In a one-piece garment, the neck strap passes through loops at the top of the stiffening inserts and the ends are secured at the lower ends of the inserts.
