Abstract
790,929. Swimsuits &c. TRUEMAN & LOWE Ltd., and TRUEMAN, M. L. June 18, 1956 [July 4, 1955], No. 19256/55. Class 141 A swimsuit &c. is provided with divergent straps 4, Fig. 2, secured at the centre front so that they can be worn over the shoulders or can be arranged along the upper edge of the garment to give a cufflike appearance, Fig. 9. The straps may be passed directly over the wearer's shoulders, or first passed through loops 8 attached to the upper edge, and secured to buttons 7 at the back of the garment. Alternatively one strap may be folded over to coincide with the other, the pair being passed over one shoulder as a single strap (Fig. 7, not shown). In the cuff-like arrangement, Fig. 9, the free ends of the straps are tied together at the back, and may first be secured to the buttons 7 by buttonholes provided at intermediate points in their length, according to the Provisional Specification. The straps are secured to the garment by an oblique line of stitching, preferably by insertion in the vertical seam between the parts 1, 2. According to the Provisional Specification, the straps may be detachably secured to the garment e.g. swivel mounted for angular movement.
