Abstract
384,484. Bathing-dresses. FRANCIS, E. L., 88, Chancery Lane, London.-(Jantzen Knitting Mills ; 691, Sandy Boulevard, Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.) Feb. 20, 1932, No. 5139. [Class 77.] The upper and lower body parts of a bathing dress are detachably secured together at the front, but are entirely free of each other at the rear. The upper body part is formed with a front part 22 held in place by a back strap 26 and shoulder straps 29. The part 22 has a downwardly curved lower edge to which one part 23 of a zipper fastener and the locking slide member 24 are attached. The lower body part 10 is formed with a supporting member 14 which is attached at its lower edge to the hems of the legs and to the crotch part, and at its upper edge by the hem stitching 17 and stitching 18. The supporter 14 carries the other part 20 of the fastener. In a modification, shown in Fig. 9, the fastener part 20 is attached to the trunks 10 bv means of a strip 30 stitched at 31, 32. The upper end of the supporter 14 is inserted under the usual hem of the trunks 10. The dress is made of knitted material in which the ribbing extends longitudinally in the straps, and the back strap 26 and shoulder straps 29 are formed of double thicknesses of material.
