Abstract
400,568. Bathing costumes. B.V.D.CO., Inc., Empire State Building, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Just, L.; 419, W. 34th Street, New York, U.S.A.) Aug. 26, 1933, No. 23794. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1932. [Class 77.] A bathing costume has a skirt 10, Figs. 2 and 3, overlying a knicker or " trunk part," and breast covering parts 15 attached to the skirt in the front and attached to shoulder straps 18 at the back. Bracing straps 19, which are attached to the top of the knicker part, are passed through the shoulder straps 18 to draw them together, the straps 19 being tied as indicated in Fig. 2. The shoulder straps may be arranged as in Fig. 2 or in a modification given a half twist to provide a better bearing surface for the bracing straps. In a further modification the shoulder straps are crossed. The knicker part of the garment may be attached to the front part of the the skirt at the waist line and if desired to the rear part by means of a short strap 12<1> of elastic material.
