906,402. Split-phase motors. LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Nov. 10, 1959 [Nov. 10, 1958], No. 37997/59. Class 35. In order to reduce the magnetic leakage in capacitor split - phase motors whose poles are linked by magnetic webs, the working air-gap under the auxiliary poles is widened. In the form shown having a stator pole star whose main poles 8 and auxiliary poles 9 are joined by a web 10, the auxiliary pole air-gap is increased by a recess 11. As shown, the stator pole star is embraced by a yoke 12, but the invention may be applied to constructions in which the poles project inwardly from the yoke, the leakage web being provided by a laminated stator bore liner having the necessary recesses under the auxiliary poles.
