A closure device, e.g. for emptying liquid from a portable collapsible container 19 comprises a housing 1 secured to a rigid container outlet flange 18 and containing a spring-loaded valve 3 opened by a cam 9 engaging valve stem 8, the cam being rotated on its spindle 10 by a key 16 on an outlet closure cap 14 engaging a squared end 13 of the spindle. A projection 16<SP>1</SP> and slot 21<SP>1</SP> ensure that the key can only be removed from opening 21 in guard ring 20 when valve 3 is closed.
