Abstract

904,664. Container closures; pouring spouts. READS Ltd. Feb. 9, 1960 [Nov. 10, 1958], No. 36060/58. Classes 66 and 125(3). A bottle for the storage of liquids has a cap 13 above a pressure relief valve comprising a body 16 and a pipe 21 with an aperture at 23 surrounded by a rubber band 24, an extendible pouring spout 15 lying below the valve. The cap 13 has a separate disc part 14 apertured at 25. The bottle and the body 16 of the valve together with the pipe 21 are of polythene. Pressure from the bottle is vented via the valve through the cap aperture. A handle 26 is provided for pulling out the spout 15 after removing the disc 14 and pressure relief unit, the spout being held in position by the cap 13.
