To make a fluid-tight joint where an electric cable comprising a conductor 6 and insulation 7 passes from a fluid containing duct (not shown), annular packing 11 of a fluid-tight gland is compressed by ring 12 between flange plates 4, 13 and to a drawn metal sleeve crimped at 10 on a plastic tube 8 surrounding the cable. Flange plate 4 is bolted to flange 2 of metal sleeve 1 which is welded or screwed to the duct, the duct being sealed by packing 3 compressed in an annular groove in flange 2 by a corresponding rib on flange plate 4. Several cables may pass through the same flange plates.
