Abstract

972,781. Switchgear structures. BROWN, BOVERI & CO. Ltd. Dec. 14, 1961 [Dec. 16, 1960], No. 44793/61. Heading H2B. A tubular cover 5 between two bar casings 1, 2 has flanges 5a, 5b sealed to flanges 1a, 7a and can be moved for access to the connection between bus-bars 3, 4 in telescoping manner over the casing 1. The flange 7a is part of an extension secured to the casing 2 and having an insulator 10 supporting the bus-bar 4. A similar arrangement may allow access to the contacts of L-junction or T-junction isolators (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). In Fig. 5 the flanges are omitted and the cover 28 has rings 26, 27 secured to its edges on the outside of projecting ridges 22a, 23a of the casings 22, 23. The cover 28 holds semi-cylindrical ports 29, 29a between the casings 22, 23 and sealing means 30 ... 33 are provided.
