Abstract
903,512. Shuttering for casting walls, floors etc.; passages. BLANK, W. Dec. 2, 1958 [Dec. 3, 1957], No. 38857/58. Class 20 (2). An adjustable beam or prop comprising telescoping parts 1, 2 for supporting shuttering is adjusted in length by driving wedges through slots 7, 8 in the outer part and slots 12, 13 in the inner part, the slots 7, 8 being arranged on both sides of reinforcing strips 6 so that the wedges can be finally driven in to lock the beam at its adjusted length. A wedge 10 is driven between the two parts 1, 2 to align the slots in the two parts and to force their upper faces together. Such an adjustable beam 19, Fig. 6, is used to support floor shuttering and an adjustable prop 15, to support wall shuttering, a transverse beam 21 being arranged between bearing claws on the ends of the beams and props and also beneath the props. In Fig. 7 the floor is cast integrally with a concrete beam and the shuttering is supported by the adjustable beams and props 35, 36, the shuttering under the beam being supported by beam 42 connected to the props 35. The parts 1, 2, Fig. 4, are of C-section, the inner part 2 having the gap between the free flanges at the inner end closed by a plate 11 in which are the slots 12, 13 and the parts are reinforced by straps 6, 9, respectively.
