Abstract
762,788. Shuttering for casting floors. GIRARD, E. G. L. March 12, 1954, No 7274/54. Class 20(2) Shuttering for casting concrete floors comprises shuttering elements 1 disposed end to end with their adjacent ends spaced apart and supported at each end by transverse beams 15 and shuttering plates 12 between the elements supported by a beam 21 which is adapted to support the concrete after the shuttering elements have been removed. Cover plates 11 complete the shuttering between the elements 1. The outer girders 15 are supported on props 16 and plates 19 and the inner girders 15 and the girder 21 on a girder 17 and props 18. Between the inner girders 15 and girder 17 are U- section plates 20 with pins 28, Fig. 15, passing through its flanges and resting on the girder 17 and all the girders are secured by wedges 27, Fig. 11, holding their flanges by means of ears 25 on the plates 19 or 20 or on the girder 17. When the concrete has set sufficiently the outer girders 15 and props 16 are removed. Pins 28 are removed to lower the plates 20 and the inner girders 15 and the elements 1 removed. The girders 21, 17, props 18 and the plate 12 support the concrete while setting is completed. The shuttering elements comprise two elements 1a, Fig. 3, hinged together at 2 and having extensions 6 and these elements placed side-byside are adapted to form a floor with integral ribs as shown at 5. The extensions 6 may be changed to vary the form and height of the ribs. The elements 1 on removal are hinged about the hinge 2 after removal of transverse members 3.
