Abstract

902,524. Seed sowers. SILK, O. A. Aug. 29, 1960 [June 3, 1959], No. 19048/59. Class 6(1). A seed sower is provided with a partitioned shoot 22 having a plurality of openings for separately receiving and directing seeds to the ground, each opening being aligned behind a corresponding rib of a multi-ribbed coulter 29. As shown seeds are picked up from a hopper 2 by cups 1 in pivoted members 12 mounted in a wheel 4. The cups are tilted by a member 19 to deposit seed into partition members 40 which extend into the shoot 22. The seeds are held in the members 40 by a trap 23 which is operated from the wheel 4 by a lever 25. The hopper 2 is pivoted on shaft 35 and may be adjusted by a lever 36.
