Abstract

838,257. Seed sowing machines. FERTE, A. M. A. March 4, 1958 [March 4, 1957], No. 6941/58. Class 6(1). A seed sowing machine comprises a distributer 6 together with a seed extractor 10 constructed as a unit which may be removed from the machine and replaced by another unit adapted to sow different seeds. As shown the distributer 6 comprises a disc formed with peripheral seed holding cavities 7 and made in two parts spigoted one into the other to form a groove in which is mounted the extractor 10 which is located in position be means of a pin 32. A door 25 is provided in the side of the machine so that the disc and extractor may be removed together with a rubber wheel 15 that removes excess seed from the disc . Seed falls into a shoot 11 and a ploughshare 12 opens up a furrow for the seed, the seed being covered by extensions 13 of the ploughshare 12.
