Abstract

700,597. Seed-sowers. SAAT-UND ERNTETECHNIK GES. July 31, 1952 [Sept. 7, 1951 ; Sept. 7, 1951], No. 19454/52. Class 6 (1) A seed-sower comprises a rotary inclined disc-coulter 6 with a pocketed roller 23 secured to it, the roller being surmounted by a hopper 8 and surrounded by a curved surface 24 which is continued across the face of the disc to define therewith a seed-delivery channel, this channel having a steeply-inclined first portion leading to a nearlyhorizontal portion. The apparatus is mounted on a beam 1 having at its front end a draught-claw 2 attachable to a tractor. A further beam 3 carries side plates 10 which support a ground roller 13 for pressing the seeds into the ground after deposition. Covering shares 16, 17 are carried by arms 14, 15 pivoted to the beam 3. The channel 24 is covered by a plate 25 but is extended rearwardly as an open channel 27, 28 terminating in a pair of plates 29, 30 forming a depositing member. A spring-loaded Scraper 19 bears on the roller 13.
