Abstract

778,485. Seed sowing machines. RIDDELL, J. A. Jan. 10, 1956, No. 843/56. Class 6(1). A seed sowing device comprises ridging ploughs 7 for forming ridges and seed sowing devices 15 for sowing seeds on top of the ridges. As shown the ridging ploughs are adjustably mounted on a frame 1 provided with a mounting structure 19 for attachment to a tractor power lift means. The seed sowing devices are adjustably attached to the frame 1 and each comprises mechanism operatedby rotation of one of a pair of ground wheels 16 a ridge splitting blade 17 being disposed in advance of the seed delivery point. Stabilising keels may be mounted on the frame so as to be disposed laterally of the seed sowing devices and in alignment with the ridging ploughs. Marker arms may also be provided on the frame. The frame may be mounted between the front and rear wheels of a tractor or may be provided with wheels for trailing behind the tractor. Alternatively the mounting structure may comprise a pair of forwardly extending members adapted for telescopic engagement with a pair of members extending rearwardly from a tractor.
