Abstract

838,272. Agricultural implements. CHRISTENSEN, P. Aug. 21, 1958 [Aug. 26, 1957], No. 26849/58. Class 6(1). Means are provided at the front of a tractor to produce a track 13 in the soil in which runs a steering means of an implement connected to the tractor so that the implement will follow the path of the tractor. As shown a share 12 is provided and a wheel 8 runs in the track 13 formed by the share. A pointer 19 is provided and is kept exactly above the middle of one of the rows of plants 11 so that the share 12 will produce the track 13 midway between the two rows of plants 11 so that the cultivator will then follow the rows of plants. The share 12 may be replaced with a V-shaped guide runner or a guide wheel formed with a V-shaped rim. The wheel 8 may be replaced by a wheel carried by a fork to which is attached a lever projecting forwardly and carrying a guide wheel or a guide runner.
