[Class 117] [Also in Group I] A machine for sowing seeds in bunches at spaced intervals comprises a seed box 1 containing a rotatable member 2 provided on its periphery with recesses 3 which pick up seeds from the lower part of the box and deliver them to a shoot 8 leading to the ground. The recesses 3 are provided with adjustable hinged lids 4 as shown in Fig. 3 to control the quantity of seeds delivered to the shoot. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the periphery of the member 2 is provided with adjustable slides 11 for covering the recesses 3. The member may be driven by any suitable gearing, or as shown in Fig. 2 it may be keyed to the axle 6 of the land wheels of the machine. The box 1 rides loosely on the axle 6 and is kept upright by a weight 16.
