Abstract
900,539. Transformers and inductances. SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., WILLEM. Feb. 6, 1959 [Feb. 7, 1958], No. 4308/59. Class 38 (2). A magnetic core is formed of layers of laminations each made up of leg pieces 1 and yoke pieces 7, 8 having corner pieces 2, 5, 9 and 10 welded to them at 11, 12 and forming butt joints at 13, 14, 15 and 16, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3. The yoke, leg and corner pieces are made from rolled grain orientated material, the directions of greatest permeability being along the length of the yoke and leg pieces and at rightangles to the long sides of the corner pieces. The butt joints of each lamination layer are overlapped by the corner pieces of the adjacent layers. Alternative ways of arranging the joints between the middle leg and the yokes are described (Figs. 2, 4 and 5, not shown). Specification 715,260 is referred to.
