896,243. Hose couplings. LUNDQUIST, B. A. July 24, 1959 [Aug. 8, 1958], No. 25492/59. Class 99(1). A coupling for flexible hoses comprises a nipple 1 having an externally expanded portion 2 insertable into a hose end 4, and a frusto-conical sleeve 5 displaceable along the nipple to clamp the hose against the nipple ,the sleeve being provided with internal screw-threads formed directly in the material of the sleeve, by a process such as rolling, and for forming corresponding threads on the exterior of the hose so as to force the sleeve towards the end 5 of the nipple when the sleeve is screwed in one direction along the hose with the larger end of the sleeve leading; the sleeve is, due to the rolling operation, also formed with external screw-threads.
