Abstract

891,675. Differential gear. ALLGAIERWERKE G.m.b.H. Feb. 2, 1960 [Dec. 19, 1959], No. 3620/60. Class 80 (2). The half-shafts 12, 13 of an endless track vehicle are driven from the engine shaft 3 through a hydrostatic gear 6 and a spur pinion type differential gear 11, steering being effected by superimposing reverse rotation on the sun pinions 21, 22 by a bevel reversing gear 28, 29, 30 and pinions 27, 25 and 31, 26. The reversing gear is controlled by a hydrostatic gear comprising a swash-plate pump 33 and a motor 36 driving the input shaft 32, the pump 33 being driven from the output shaft 40 of a bevel differential gear of which the input shafts 38, 39 are geared to the input and output shafts 3, 8 of the gear 6, so that the pump speed is proportional to the difference of speed between shafts 3 and 8.
