611,161. Steering-differential. ETABLISSEMENTS RICHARD FRERES, SOC. A R.L. April 23, 1946, No. 12300. Convention date, March 11, 1944. [Class 80 (ii)] To permit reduction in size due to higher rotational speeds of a controlled differential steering-gear in a track-laying vehicle, the gear drives each track-sprocket 14a through epicyclic reduction-gear 12a. The steering-differential comprises steering-brakes 7a on freely-mounted suns 8a engaging pinions 9a on the shafts of interengaging planets 4a, 4b in a bevel-driven carrier 3, and meshing driven suns 5a, 5b. The latter are each fast with driving suns 10a of the epicyclic reduction-gears which have permanently fixed ring-gears 12a and driven planetcarriers 13a secured to the usual spur-reducing pinions 15a driving the track-sprockets 14a.
