Abstract
1317313 Differential steering ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSCHAFEN AG 14 Dec 1970 [31 Dec 1969] 59332/70 Heading B7H In a driving and steering arrangement for tracked vehicles having a change speed gear 5, two planetary gears 7, 8 have reaction members 9, 10 which can be fixed for straight ahead travel and can be driven in opposite directions by way of a differential 11 which transmits the steering power for travel on curves. The cages of the two planetary gears 7, 8 are driven by the hollow output shaft 6 and transmit the power to the two drive shafts 17, 18. The differential 11, Fig. 3, comprises two spur gear-wheels 11A, 11B mounted on a common cage 12 and are each in mesh with a pinion 13, 14 respectively which are connected with reaction members 9, 10. For straight ahead travel the reaction members are held fast by the braking of the gear 15. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4, (not shown), a further drive unit (30) is provided for peak output. In another embodiment Fig. 6, (not shown), variable delivery pumps (50), (51) provide a hydrostatic steering drive on a reversible hydrostatic motor (53) which drives a bevel gear differential (65) in both directions and at various speeds. In another embodiment, Fig. 7, (not shown) a spur differential (73) is situated beside the two planetary gears (71, (72) and the reaction shaft (82) is driven by a hydrostatic motor (81), the fixed cage (80) being screwed on to a housing (79).
