891,062. Tunnel kilns. FORMI ED IMPIANTI INDUSTRIALI INGG. DE BARTOLOMEIS S.p.A. April 8, 1960 [June 9, 1959], No. 12533/60. Class 51 (2). A tunnel kiln for firing ceramics has roof burners 1 in the firing zone and lateral burners 2 in the preheating zone opening into combustion chambers 11 supplied by a fan 5 and ducts 9 with waste gases extracted from the kiln through ports 4 at kiln car level. Branch pipes from ducts 9 to combustion chambers 11 have dampers 10. Other waste gases from ports 4 are returned to the kiln by fans 3 through roof nozzles 6. Cooling air supplied by fan 7 is extracted by fan 8 and may be used as combustion air.
