Abstract

In a phosphate coating process using a zinc phosphate coating solution, the replenishing chemicals added include an alkali metal zincate solution. As described, a bath containing zinc dihydrogen phosphate, phosphoric acid, sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide is used to coat steel and the bath is replenished with zinc dihydrogen phosphate, phosphoric acid, hydrogen peroxide and sodium zincate.
