Abstract

885,115. Metallic fabrics. MARSDEN, A. April 15, 1958 [April 17, 1957 ; Nov. 1, 1957], Nos. 12567/57 and 34185/57. Class 45. [Also in Groups X and XXXIII] Reinforcement metal work for mortar, bitumen and the like used in surfacing ships' decks, flooring &c. comprises bent metal strips 1 assembled together on edge and side-by-side to form hexagonal cells, interengaged at the points of contact which lie in a straight line by tongues 5 projecting from one strip through slots 4 in the other strip. To prevent disengagement a split pin, not shown, may be passed through the registering holes 8 in adjacent strips. In a modification, Figs. 3, 4, (not shown), the strips are of zig-zag shape, the limbs being at right angles to each other so that square cells are formed on assembly. Slots are provided on both sides of the apices of each strip through which passes the tongues of adjacent strips which may be locked in position by bending up the tongues. In both embodiments, adjacent strips are interengaged by sliding the strips together in a direction parallel to their overall lengths. Specification 752,874 is referred to.
