Abstract
980,960. Lining for water courses; tiles. J. LUITJE VOS. June 15, 1962 [June 16, 1961], No. 23068/62. Headings E1B and E1H. A lining for the sides and bottom of a water course comprises a plurality of tiles 1, 5 jointed by elongated sealing strips 4, 4a, e.g. of wood, received in adjoining grooves 2 formed in the tile edges and extending through the respective linings generally transversely to the path of the water course, the sealing strips 4 and 4a of the side and bottom linings, respectively, being staggered by approximately one half the dimension of a tile in the direction of the water course, the side strips 4 projecting at the bottom so as to extend beneath the bottom lining, while the bottom strips 4a project beneath the side linings. The tile 1 may have a curved or grooved flat bottom surface to accept the strip 4a. A further strip of wood may be placed beneath the gap between the bottom and side linings.
