Abstract

884,138. Pneumatic conveyers. FULLER CO. Nov. 9, 1959 [Dec. 23, 1958], No. 37900/59. Class 78 (1). A storage vessel 1 from which pulverent material A may be discharged in suspension with air, has a separate unit 16 bolted to an output aperture 5 of the vessel 1 and having a manually adjustable flow control valve 26. The pulverent material is supported in the vessel 1 on porous surfaces 4 (canvas belting) and steeply sloping side members 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. Pressure air is fed in at 12 and pressure equalizer connections 11 are provided. In operation, the valve 26 is set to closed position by a handle 31 and air rises through the surface 4 and fluidizes the material A. The latter is forced into a chamber 21 of the unit 16 and is maintained fluidized by a porous base 41 connected by a pipe 43 to the main pressure source. Pressure air above the material A passes down through a conduit 45 to a chamber 22 on the output side of the valve 26 and when the latter is opened assists the flow of the material A along a conveyer pipe 38. An inverted V-shaped baffle 47 is disposed above the output aperture 5. As shown, the latter is positioned in the middle of the length of the vessel 1. Specification 877,203 is referred to.
