Abstract
883,598. Inductances. CAMBRIDGE THERMIONIC CORPORATION. June 8, 1959 [July 28, 1958], No. 19505/59. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XXXVI] Fine linear adjustment of the powder core 16 (Fig. 1) of an inductance 15 is obtained by securing it to a narrow rectangular section member 30 having a fine thread on its narrow faces and co-operating with a spring-pressed captive nut 40 held in a bushing 36 on metal housing 12. Member 30 is a close fit in passage 34 and nut 40 is held against accidental rotation by spring washers 54.1, 54.2. Coil 15 is wound on a former 14 of polyfluorethylene polymer and is magnetically shielded by cup 17 and cover 18 both of ferromagnetic material. Terminals 19 on board 21 and silicon rubber spacers 24, 26 are provided. For use as a trimmer condenser - the core 16 can be replaced by a slug functioning as an adjustable capacitor plate and coil 15 by a cylindrical capacitor plate formed on the external surface of tube 14.
